- 1772: The London Credit Exchange Company issues the first traveler’s cheques, usable in 90 European cities.

- 1818: At Bhima Koregaon, the 2nd Bombay Native Infantry Battalion, led by F. F. Stanton, defeats the Peshwa’s 25,000-strong army with just 500 soldiers.

- 1848: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule start the first school for girls at Bhide Wada in Pune.

- 1883: A new Marathi school was established in Pune.

- 1932: Dr. Narayan Parulekar started the Sakal newspaper.
- 1983: ARPANET was officially converted to TCP/IP, effectively creating the Internet, using the Internet protocol.
- 1995: The World Trade Organization (WTO) was established.
- 1999: Euro currency introduced in 11 member states of the European Union
- 2001: Greece adopts the euro currency, becoming the 12th eurozone country
- 2023: Croatia officially adopts the euro currency, becoming the 20th eurozone country.
